Volume, shape and size on facades

With regard to walls, SanMarco terracotta is at its best in fair-faced cladding solutions, in which various forms (bricks, hollow tiles, slats and architectural elements) combine in different ways to express the character of designs conceived specifically to showcase the attractiveness and versatility of terracotta.

The fair-faced tradition

SanMarco is the custodian of a legacy of forms pertaining to traditional architectural codes, shaped by the past but still used today in rural settings or special sites, from classic brickwork to architectural elements such as pillars, arches, cornices, half pilasters, friezes, decorations, copings and windowsills.

SanMarco manufactures and offers its clients “soft-sludge” components, that are nonetheless painstakingly hand-moulded, as tradition dictates, with unique and special moulds, completing its production able to meet all aesthetic and design requirements. Equipped with surprising versatility in application, these terracotta items allow formal and architectural solutions to complete details of interiors, gardens and terraces, both for modern and innovative contexts and traditional or rustic settings. These terracotta moulds have largely contributed to the fascination of the “handmade” – a manufacturing expertise of which SanMarco has long been the custodian.
