Be inspired by our roofs

A terracotta roof is so expressive that it can literally change our perception of a building! The colour of the roof actually helps to give a building one personality rather than another, accentuating the identity expressed by the facade or changing it completely.

Many factors go into choosing the colour of a roof, from coherence with the setting to character and architectural style or combination with other materials and colours.

The correct choice can also depend on the architectural style of the house and many other factors, from energy efficiency to agreement with neighbours.

Brown or mixed brown and cream tiles are the perfect match for a coffee, cream or cinnamon-coloured house. Dark grey and black stand out and complement each other on a white building, giving it a traditional air. Conversely, greater flexibility is available for houses painted yellow or green.

Cold colours

The latest trends in contemporary design show a gradual expansion of colours to include dark and cold shades, all with their own distinct personality. In this sphere, variations of black and white are undoubtedly the most sought-after. In addition to their aesthetic function, these colours can actually condition the temperature of the under-roof space (by between 20 and 40 degrees) and make a real difference to the costs of heating and air conditioning. By reflecting sunlight, white or pale tiles help to keep the temperature inside low, while dark shades absorb the heat, helping to warm the house and even melting snow and ice on the roof.
